Emeritus Gardens has been an online plant seller for over a decade. We have watched as customers try and occasionally fail to have a happy time with their new houseplant. We know that success depends on many factors. What the sales teams at large nurseries don't reveal is that growing conditions at their nurseries might differ dramatically from those of your home. For this reason, as online sellers, we always offered free replacements for any plant which did not thrive, and we always sent out our plant "blurb" with each order to help customers know what simple care guidelines would ensure success.
This seems like common sense, but you need to be aware that a plant grown at 90F in sunny and humid Florida will have an attitude to 60F in chilly Wisconsin.
